Elina Cluster Necklace

August 13th, 2008

Elina  means Torch or powerful bright light,Blue Fire Labradorite or Spectrolite is a form of Labradorite only found in Finland, it is a powerstone, and I chose the name Elina because of the beautiful Blue light this Smooth Teardrop Briolette gives off.

The Elina Necklace is hand-made using a cluster of toning Czech Fire-polished Crystals and Swarovski Bicone Beads, AAA Micro faceted ~Black Spinel~ Rondelles, Moonstone rounds,Quartz Crystal Rounds and finished with the Blue Fire ~Labradorite~ Smooth Tear Drop Briolette .

All stones are individually hand-selected and hand-wrapped onto Sterling silver Trace chain so the piece falls, swings and sparkles with every move you make.

The Elina Necklace measures 26cm from the Sterling Silver Bolt Ring Clasp to the bottom of the dangle, all metal components are Sterling silver .pict0255.jpg

Rejigging

July 24th, 2008

Although I’m incredibly happy with the whole look of my website and shop, one thing I’ve not been completely happy about was the descriptions.

So, between keeping my two little Imp’s amused (it’s the Summer Hol’s) and creating new designs, I’ve been re-jigging my descriptions  and have ‘Named’ all my designs.

The names I’ve come up with are themed for each of the Collections .

The Precious Collection are all names with meanings that correspond to the meanings of the Gemstones used.

The Elemental Collection are all names to do with feelings and emotions. The Childrens jewellery have simple names.

The description’s will be simpler but more detailed,at the moment,in my opinion they are long-winded.

The new designs I’ve created will be completed and named, and hopefully the website and shop descriptions will be changed for the weekend.

Sterling Triple Strand Knotted Necklace

July 10th, 2008

I’ve been busy over the past few days trying out some of the design ideas I’ve been having.Sometimes simple designs stand out more than the intricate ones.

I’m very pleased with this and will be making more in the same style,I’ve been frantically ordering small gemstone rounds

I’ve used 18/18 trace,18/18 curb and plain 3 oval belcher,2mm turquoise rounds and hill tribe silver small twisted jump rings.

I’ve also made a bracelet but without the knot.turqknottednecklace.jpg

At last it seems Summer’s finally here, lets hope it doesn’t turn out to be a damp squib like last year. It’s nice being able to sit out in the garden and create some nice jewellery.

It’s staggering how much time and energy you have to put into setting up a business, I knew it was going to be a hard work, but I wasn’t prepared for not having enough hours in the day to do even half of what I want to. In the quiet moments , like when walking to pick my children up from school, I have all these design ideas popping into my head but it’s finding the time to make them all. I’ve started a carrying a small sketch book around with me so I can either jot a sketch down,or scribble some notes.

It is hard though, getting set up,noticed etc..making my design’s is time consuming ,but it’s not only that….there’s keeping the website upto date, promoting , running the house, looking after and having fun with the kids etc etc.

Luckily I’m enjoying every minute of it though, and I’m just content to be able to work doing something that I love , sadly not many people are able to say that.

Here’s a couple of pieces that I made over the weekend, these are Elemental Collection pieces.

Now I’m off to create some Precious Collection items

Smokey Pearl LariatGirl’s Lilac Blossom Charm Bracelet

Hello world!

June 16th, 2008

Wow! What a busy few weeks ,new business, new website, new shop and blog, making jewellery for said business ,website and shop….who was the clever one who only put 24 hours in a day?

Actually despite running around like the proverbial headless chicken,it has been fun and I’m going to get a bit mushy here and say a BIG THANK-YOU to Guggie(you know who you are) for working tirelessly to get the website and shop looking as great as it is.All commissions for web pages ,just email me and i’ll pass them on.

Here’s one of  the latest designs to go onto the website,I’ve been just playing around with these but am really pleased with how they’ve turned out,and there will be different shaped pendant’s coming soon.A Touch of Teal Marquis Pendant
